Soroptimist International of Sequim, chartered in 1947, provides continuing support for women and girls in Clallam County. We are guided by our mission – providing women and girls with access to the education they need to achieve economic empowerment. We are also community-minded and answer the call when there is a need. One of those ways is by loaning durable medical equipment to the Sequim community through our Medical Loan Closet. Did you know that in the last six years Soroptimist International of Sequim has given over $247, 000 for scholarships, awards and organizations whose mission aligns with ours? A large portion of those funds are raised through our main fundraiser—our annual Gala Garden Show. Also, we have been fortunate to benefit from strong women who want to be benefactors through legacy giving. In an organization like ours, legacy giving assists us in continuing our mission; it offers the opportunity for someone to give through bequeathing funds so one generation can support another generation. Educational costs often prevent a young woman from getting an education that in the end, would benefit the community. Wouldn’t you like to be a legacy giver?
